The business client is one of the reputed American educational publishers which provides personalized educational content, software, and services from pre-K to the postgraduate level. As technology has already made its way into the classroom; therefore, the multinational giant started providing digital products along with traditional print products. In the present years, the shift has sped up with a rapid concentration on the development of adaptive learning systems, thereby enabling classroom teaching to come closer to a one to one student-teacher communication. Such improvised systems allow customized learning that measures every student’s skill level and makes use of data to decide how every student can advance through lessons. At present, the client provides digital products and services to more than 11 million users on over 1500 adaptive products in higher education and digital formats for its major K-12 programs.

The American client wanted quality review services so that a proper evaluation of the content can be conducted. Apart from this, the client’s partners also provide content for quality reviewing. The client shares the content using emails or FTP client. In addition to this, the content provided by the client has features like measurement, preparation of the test, and study material for numerous exam preparations. Apart from this, the content also consists of numerous levels of metadata records.

The expert reviewers scrutinize each item based on different parameters. The genuineness of the metadata record is measured on different parameters which include level of difficulty, time required to solve, and primary learning outcomes. Apart from this, the correctness and the effectiveness of the content is kept under check. Moreover, visuals are also used whenever required. The content is free of plagiarisms.

At the beginning of the project, we at Acadecraft came across the inspected content to be disappointing at many places and not meeting the client’s requirements. We onboarded a large team of expert reviewers for this particular project, and a difference in opinion started reflecting on the final reviewed content. Some common problems were connected to the difference in syllabus, exam pattern, and difficulty level. We as a team recognized a common reason which is each expert has his/her way of observing an item. The adopted ways differed, but the ultimate objectives remained the same for all.

A standard checklist for quality testing was very crucial to guarantee that the overall quality testing procedure is constant and connected regardless of a large team scrutinizing different items at the same time and on different subjects. Moreover, the client did not provide us with a clear writing guideline.

The second problem is that in the very beginning the project wasn’t delivered and pre-planned due to a large number of to and fro of the scrutinized files between the client and Acadecraft. Regarding problem one, the scrutinizers had to go through the reviewed files for a large number of times until the quality level was finally achieved.

We at Acadecraft recommended the client to design a standard and an informative checklist which has to be strictly adhered to by the scrutinizers. The checklist was used as a handbook so that it can be referred to while reviewing the content. It took our reviewers a month to solve the problem, but in the end, the issue disappeared. At present, we are being regarded as our clients extended quality analysis team. On the other hand, our team at Acadecraft completed an informative measurement of the syllabus, required topics to be covered, the pattern of examination, and difficulty level of questions to be upheld across the examinations to ensure that the scrutinizers are working together thereby maintaining a common process.
